Changing our company branding was a significant undertaking, so we thought we would share how it went for us.

Why do we want to change?

We looked at our current brand identity, our logo, colour scheme, tagline (or rather lack of it!) and thought about what it said about us as a company.

Just doing that made us realise that our public image of ourselves was at odds with the way we experience the company as a team and the way our customers feel about us.

What is missing?

We started our rebrand by thinking about a strapline. We felt very strongly that we wanted to highlight how central people are to what we do and how we go about it. Of course, that includes us as a team, but it also means our customers – the people we work with on projects, and it includes the people at the end of the projects, those whose lives will be affected by our work.

At the same time, we are driven by the desire to deliver value to our clients, by the buzz of working with a new client on a new project, and by that feeling of being able to provide a sense of order and control to any project.

We kept it simple – Project Driven // People Focused

What should we be called?

We all agreed from the outset that we wanted a name that wasn’t associated with a person and we wanted one word. This was the hard part – so many discussions with the wider team and with the management team – lots of different views and suggestions. We just kept whittling away and Becca was the person who came up with the winner! Something resonated with the derivation of the two words that make up Mantralis – strength, belief, respect, and femininity – they all ticked the boxes. And we liked the sound of it.

Mantra – a word or phrase that is often repeated and that expresses something that people believe in

Alis – in ancient Greek mythology, Alis was associated with the goddess of the moon, Artemis, symbolizing purity and femininity. In Arabic, Alis signifies “exalted” or “sublime,” reflecting the high regard and respect bestowed upon individuals bearing this name.

So, Mantralis it is.

What do we want to add?

Although we all work remotely, we are a close team, from a variety of backgrounds and experience. We love our work, and we move quickly as a company to adapt to changes and to work with new organisations on projects.

We felt we need to show more of ourselves on our site – not just about the amazing work we do and the range of organisations and companies we support, but about the team. We needed also to speak in a way that sounded like us – down to earth, straightforward, easy-going, and fun.

How to add those things?

We are lucky enough to know a lot of people between us – many years of experience in different working environments, so were able to find a brilliant copywriter in the form of Helen from Trumpet Media, who got what we wanted to say and how we wanted to say it. We also knew Susie from Wise Genius, who luckily had worked with Helen before too – it made the whole process run much more smoothly.

We are excited about what the future holds and are eager to continue growing, innovating, and expanding our vision.

Thank you for being a part of our story.  Here is to new beginnings and an exciting journey ahead.  Stay tuned for more of Mantralis.
